Pope Francis Waves From Motorcade To Waiting Crowd In Center City
By Tim Jimenez
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Papal motorcade made its way from the airport to the Cathedral Basilica this morning. Some pedestrians even got a glimpse of the Pope as he rode by in Center City.
At 15th and Vine a crowd had gathered. The Pope and his famous car was set to come by.
JP from Virginia heard the sirens underneath where he and the crowd stood at the Vine Street Expressway.
"The Fiat was coming in through the tunnel and we saw that, we didn't really see him then, but we knew it was him because it's a Fiat."
And then, moments later right in front of their eyes, the Papal motorcade.
The backseat left passenger seat window rolled down, on the right side, a Papal wave.
Bill from Delaware was left a bit stunned, "a wonderful experience. Was such a surprise and almost everyone here was shocked I believe."
What a way for Bill and his wife to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary.
"We're lucky and blessed."
