Poll: Tom Wolf Maintains Large Lead Over Democratic Opponents

HARRISBURG, Pa. (CBS) - A new Franklin and Marshall College Poll shows the challengers in the race for the Democratic gubernatorial nomination have failed to put a dent in the lead held by frontrunner Tom Wolf.
The new Franklin and Marshall College Poll shows Tom Wolf is favored by 33-percent of Democrats. Allyson Schwartz, Rob McCord and Katie McGinty remain in single digits. A February F&M Poll had Wolf at 36-percent. And like that earlier poll, about half of Democrats remain undecided.
Poll Director Terry Madonna says commercials put on the air by McCord and McGinty haven't been on long enough to judge their impact. But he says there's no doubt Wolf's ads have been effective.
"Tom Wolf is now popular. He is better known," Madonna said. "And there isn't much in the way of negatives that any of his opponents have pointed to."
Madonna believes that will have to change. He believes the other three candidates will have to stop running against Republican Tom Corbett and start differentiating themselves from Wolf if they hope to catch him.
