Poll: Obama Holds Comfortable Lead Over Romney

HARRISBURG, Pa (CBS) - The Democratic incumbents have opened up wide leads in the races for president and US Senate in the latest Franklin and Marshall College poll of Pennsylvania voters.
President Obama leads Romney by 12 points, 48-percent to 36-percent. F&M Poll director Terry Madonna says Pennsylvania is still competitive, for now.
"I think it's on the cusp of being a state that may not be competitive. I am reminded, however, that Reagan and Bill Clinton, when they were challenging Jimmy Carter and George Herbert Walker Bush, respectively, both trailed nationally and in Pennsylvania at a similar time."
Madonna believes one reason Romney trails in Pennsylvania is because he's not made a significant effort and that he'll have to decide whether it's worth committing resources.
The poll also shows incumbent Democrat Bob Casey leading Republican Tom Smith by a two to one margin in the race for US Senate, and that voters have an unfavorable view of Governor Corbett by a margin of 39-percent to 32-percent.
