Poll: Majority Of Pa. Voters Support Corbett's Lawsuit Against NCAA

HARRISBURG, Pa. (CBS) - A new poll shows Pennsylvania voters support Governor Corbett's lawsuit against the NCAA's sanctions against Penn State, even if he's not getting much of a bump in job approval ratings from it.
A Public Policy Polling survey shows Pennsylvania voters support Governor Corbett's lawsuit against the NCAA by a margin of 52-percent to 34-percent.
Poll director Tom Jensen says, "And that's really just a reflection of the fact that 62-percent of voters in Pennsylvania think the Penn State sanctions were too strict – so they appreciate Corbett trying to do something about it."
Forty-nine percent of the Pennsylvania voters surveyed consider themselves fans of the Nittany Lions. The other 51 percent oppose the lawsuit by a margin of 45 to 41-percent. But, despite general support for the lawsuit, Public Policy Polling, which is a Democratic-leaning outfit, finds that Corbett himself is apparently not benefiting, with his job approval rating still mired at 38-percent.
