Poll: Majority Of Married People Want To Die Before Their Spouse
NEW YORK, NY (CBS) – Ah, true love.
A July 2013 CBS News poll shows that the majority of married people want to die before their spouse.
According to the poll, which was conducted by telephone and looked at a random sample of just over 1,000 adults nationwide, 62 percent of women and 70 percent of men said they'd rather not outlive their spouse.
Furthermore, 55 percent would gladly give their life for their child or children.
The not-so-rosy news: Just 12 percent of people would be willing to give their life for their spouse, and only 5 percent would be willing to die for their country.
