Poll: Little Has Changed Over Course Of NJ Gubernatorial Campaign
TRENTON, NJ (CBS) – Just one day before voters head to the polls in New Jersey, Gov. Christie remains in the lead.
A new poll from Monmouth University shows that Christie currently has a 20-point lead over Democratic Sen. Barbara Buono with voters in the Garden State.
While Christie's margin is down slightly from a 24-point lead three weeks ago, the numbers reveal that little has changed over the course of the campaign.
Christie currently has the support of 92% of Republicans, 61% of independents and 23% of Democrats. The incumbent governor's lead is even stronger in the state's four shore counties, where he has a 65% to 28% advantage among likely voters.
Monmouth University conducted the poll via telephone between Oct. 30 and Nov. 2. The margin of error is +/- 2.6 percent.
