Poll: Gov. Christie's Favorability Rating Higher Among Democrats Than Republicans
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A new poll shows that Gov. Christie's favorability extends across party lines.
In the Gallup poll, which was conducted from June 1-4 and assessed the image of five Republicans who could run for President in the next election, Gov. Christie came out with a 53% favorable ranking among Republicans and Republican-leaning Independents.
But what's interesting is Christie's rating among Democrats. Fifty-four-percent of self-described Democrats or Democrat-leaning Independents had a favorable impression of the governor – a higher percentage of Democrats than Republicans.
Additionally, Christie had the highest score of all the Republicans across Americans, at 52%. Paul Ryan came in second, with a distant 40%.
