PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police say a 79-year-old woman was struck by a stray bullet on the front porch of a home in North Philadelphia.
Philadelphia Police say it happened at about 10:39 p.m. Tuesday at the 2800 block of N. 25th Street.
Police say, based on the evidence, they know what kind of gun was used.
"Based on the crime scene, we know that at least two shots were fired from a semi-automatic weapon," says Chief Inspector Scott Small. "We found two shell casings on the street, about 50 feet north from where the woman was sitting when she was shot."
Police say the woman was struck once in the leg. She was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
Police are investigating, they say there was a surveillance camera nearby.
