UWCHLAN TOWNSHIP, Pa. (CBS) – Police say a husband stabbed to death his estranged wife in the parking lot of a Chester County Wawa late Sunday evening.
James Hvizda is facing first degree murder charges in the death of Kimberly Hvizda.
Investigators say the deadly incident happened at about 11 p.m. at the Wawa on Ticonderoga Boulevard in Upper Uwchlan Township.
According to investigators, James Hvizda met his estranged wife in the parking lot as she was beginning her shift at the Wawa. Police say the two had a conversation before walking over to Kimberly's van.
Once at the van, investigators say James Hvizda took out a knife and stabbed his estranged wife multiple times. Kimberly Hvizda was pronounced dead at the scene.
After the stabbing, investigators say James Hvizda walked into the Upper Uwchlan Township Police Department and told them he had just killed his wife.
"This was a cold-blooded, pre-planned killing. The defendant executed his wife, the mother of his four children, with casual efficiency. Those four children are now left without a mother and with a father charged with murder," Chester County District Attorney Tom Hogan said.
Kimberly Hvizda had a Protection From Abuse Order against James Hvizda since November of 2011.
James Hvizda is facing first degree murder and related offenses and has been denied bail.
