Police Warn Of Killer Drugs That Look Like Heroin On Streets Of New Jersey

TRENTON (CBS) - State Police in New Jersey are warning about a batch of drugs being sold on the street that are packaged to look like heroin. In some cases they're not heroin, but what they are is lethal.
The wax folds filled with contraband are being sold on streets throughout New Jersey, according to State Police Sergeant Jeffrey Flynn:
"They're labeled 'Power Hour', 'Taliban' and 'Strike Dead.' Those three particular stamps we have found are responsible for six recent overdose deaths."
The issue is basically bait and switch. A drug user thinks they're taking a hit of heroin, but what they're taking in could be a lethal combination of drugs that contains no heroin at all.
So Narcan, used by police and paramedics to reverse the effects of an opioid overdose, doesn't work.
Bottom line: if you have narcotics with those brand names on them…don't use them.
