PHILADELPHIA (CBS/AP) — Philadelphia police say the death of a Temple University student was not a random act. They believe someone who knew 21-year-old Daniel Duignam pulled the trigger, and now police are searching for the person or people responsible.

Officers say the Temple junior called 911 on Saturday night, but by the time first responders arrived to his off-campus apartment, it was too late.
Officers still aren't sure how many people may have been involved. Police are combing through surveillance video and are hoping someone who saw something comes forward because they do not have a suspect.
"If anybody saw anything outside, saw anything suspicious, saw anybody leaving that property, we are looking for anyone who might have any information on who would've done this to contact Homicide," said Philadelphia Police Homicide Capt. John Ryan.
A $20,000 reward has been offered to find the person who took the life of Duignam. He was shot in the chest, groin and forearm inside his off-campus apartment on West Diamond Street on Saturday night.

Authorities say Duignam was able to call 911 after he was shot and told the operator he couldn't breathe, but a few minutes later when police arrived on scene, he was unresponsive.
Police believe his death was the result of a robbery because there was no forced entry and Duignam lived by himself.
"The kid was a good kid," said Ryan. "He was from the Lehigh Valley, a nice family, it's a terrible tragedy."
Despite police believing this was an isolated incident and that there is no immediate threat to other Temple students right now, they want students to remember to be aware of people.

"You have to look out for each other. Be aware of strangers, be aware of who you're doing business with, be aware of who you are inviting into your apartment," said Ryan.
