Police: Suspects Used Taser In Fishtown Robbery
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia Police are searching for two suspects wanted in connection with a series of violent robberies, including one in Fishtown.
New surveillance footage shows the suspects in action. In one video, they have their arms around each other, looking like a couple out for a walk, but minutes later, police say they used a taser to attack and rob a woman along the 1200 block of Leopard Street.
That was back on August 11th, since then police say they've attacked at least four more times, at C and Loudon Streets, on Castor near Magee, near 8th and Wyoming Avenue, and the most recent near front and Girard Ave, where police say they not only used a stun-gun, but also stabbed a man.
Police say after one attack, video shows the two take a backpack under a staircase, and change their clothes, before they hop on separate El trains to make their getaway.
In the Leopart Street attack, police say the 32-year-old victim was approached from behind by a male and a female, then felt a shock in her back when one of the suspects shocked her with a taser then pulled her purse from her arm. When the victim turned, police say, she saw the man with her purse in his hand along with a female. The man then raised his hand as if he was going to fight, according to police. When the victim started to scream, both suspects fled the area on foot in an unknown direction.
