Police: Suspect Dragged Employee With Vehicle While Fleeing After Robbery
HATFIELD TWP., Pa. (CBS) – Police say a robbery suspect was seen on surveillance video dragging a grocery store employee through a parking lot while fleeing.
The incident occurred on Monday just after 7: 30 p.m. at the ShopRite located at 170 Forty Foot Road in Hatfield Township, Pa.
According to police, Garrett Thomas Libby, of Quakertown, entered the grocery store and stole several items.
Investigators say a loss prevention employee approached Libby in the parking lot as he was getting into a maroon 200 Ford Explorer with a Pennsylvania registration of JBS-0429.
Allegedly, the suspect refused to stop and drug the employee with his vehicle as he left the lot.
The employee was taken to Abington Hospital and is receiving treatment.
Libby has been charged with robbery, aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person and retail theft among other charges.
