Public's Help Sought In Finding Abducted Bucks County Woman
FALLS TWP., N.J. (CBS) - Falls Township Police are still searching for 48-year-old Diane Corado, a woman who was allegedly beaten and abducted from her home Sunday morning.
48-year-old Kenneth Lamon Patterson was arrested Sunday night at about 9 p.m. at the Clover Motel on Route 73 in Maple Shade, Burlington County. Police say Patterson, a former boyfriend of the victim, is suspected of abducting Corado from her home at the Village of Pennbrook Apartments.
Patterson allegedly attacked Corado with a pipe, threatened her with a knife, and then forced her and her friend into Corado's 2004 black Pontiac Aztec. Police say he let Corado's friend out of the car, then drove off.
Shortly after 6 p.m. on Sunday, police in New Jersey received a tip from a citizen regarding the location of Corado's car which has a vanity plate that reads "DMC XOXO". Police recovered the vehicle in Camden on the 1600 block of Norris Street, but found no sign of Patterson or Corado.
Since Patterson's arrest late Sunday night, no updates have been made concerning Corado's whereabouts. Police say Patterson has a criminal record and that he and Corado recently ended their relationship.
Lt. Henry Ward of the Falls Twp Police says Corado was last seen wearing a night gown.
Corado's son Scott Melnick testified over the weekend.
"Mom, if you're there, stay strong," Melnick said.
