Police Speak To Person Of Interest In Bike Theft Following Charity Ride
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Philadelphia police say they are speaking with a person of interest in the theft of 15 bicycles following a charity event.
Police also say several of the stolen bikes have been recovered.
According to investigators, riders who participated in the Tour De Shore charity ride on July 28 were storing their bikes at The Irish Pub at 2011 Walnut Street (see previous story).
During the early morning hours on July 30, 2013, an unknown person stole 15 bicycles that were being stored. The bikes were valued at $22,000 total.
Surveillance video captured the suspect(s) vehicle, which is described as an older model light-colored Ford pickup truck, possibly a Ranger. The vehicle was observed traveling west on the 2000 block of Moravian Street at 4:35 a.m.
