Man Injured In Dog Attack In Cobbs Creek

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Philadelphia Police were forced to open fire on two dogs in two separate attacks overnight, killing one dog and injuring another.
Police say a 54-year-old man was walking home along the 2100-block of Cobbs Creek Parkway around 1:30 this morning when two boxers slipped under a fence and attacked him. Police shot and killed one of the dogs and animal control officers captured the second.
The victim was taken to the hospital and treated for multiple dog bites. So far, no charges have been lodged against the dogs' owner.
Earlier, police say a Brewerytown man was attacked by a pitbull mix on the 6100-block of Ridge Avenue around 11 p.m. Police shot the dog in the paw.
The victim was treated on the scene for minor bites.
