Police Seize Over $72K Of Heroin During Traffic Stop In Delaware
WILMINGTON, Del. (CBS) – Officials is Delaware say police seized over $72,000 worth of heroin during a traffic stop Thursday.
The incident occurred around 7:45 p.m. at the intersection of 9th and North King Streets in Wilmington.
Police say 37-year-old Linzy Watson, of Middletown, and 28-year-old Charles Fax, of Wilmington, were pulled over by a K-9 officer and his partner after he failed to signal at the intersection.
According to authorities, the officer's partner, Rex, indicated that illegal narcotics were inside the vehicle.
Upon executing a search warrant, police say 109.4 grams of heroin, valued at $72,204, was found.
Watson, a convicted drug offender, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, driving while suspended/revoked, failure to signal and related offenses.
Fax, also a convicted drug offender and felon, was charged with possession of a controlled substance.
They were both committed in lieu of bail.
