READING, Pa. (CBS) – Officials say four people were arrested after police seized about 75 pounds of marijuana from a plane in Berks County.
According to officials, Pennsylvania State Police stopped a twin engine Cessna 421 B that landed at Reading Regional Airport on Tuesday as part of an ongoing investigation.
Police say officers approached the plane while it was being refueled and reviewed the pilot's documents. Officers then searched the plane, after receiving consent, and found approximately 15 pounds of marijuana in one suitcase, say authorities.
After a search warrant was received, officers continued their search and found approximately 75 pounds of marijuana, 19 cell phones and about $25,000 in cash.
All four males, two from California and two from Arizona, were arrested and taken to Berks County Prison after failing to post $100,000 bail.
