Police Seeking White Sedan in Wissinoming Hit-Run
By Jim Melwert
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia police are releasing a better picture of the car they say was involved in a hit-and-run accident earlier this month in Northeast Philadelphia.
Fourteen-year-old Kylie Givens was critically injured when she was hit March 9th at around 8:30pm while crossing Torresdale Avenue at Cheltenham Avenue, according to police lieutenant John Stanford.
"She was struck by a white vehicle traveling northbound," Standford tells KYW Newsradio. "At the time of the crash, the vehicle pulled over (and) a male driver exited for a brief moment before getting back into the vehicle and leaving the scene."
That vehicle is a white, two-door sedan, Lt. Stanford says, now with damage to the hood and a missing sideview mirror.
Police are hoping that someone will recognize the car and will give them a call.
Kylie's younger sister was also the victim of a hit-and-run that same week (see related story). The driver that allegedly hit her turned himself in, and Lt. Stanford says they want to close this case to give the family closure.
