Police Seek Suspect Believed To Be Responsible For Two NE Philadelphia Bank Robberies

PHILADELPHIA (CBS)--Philadelphia Police and the FBI are on the hunt for a suspect who is believed to have robbed two Northeast Philadelphia banks within the last week.

The suspect struck the Citizens Bank branch located at 7327 Frankford Avenue in Mayfair on Tuesday afternoon.

The suspect entered the bank and presented a demand note to a teller. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, he fled the area on foot.

The same suspect is believed to be responsible for Sunday's robbery of the Republican Bank branch located at 7300 Frankford Avenue, also in Mayfair.

In Sunday's incident, he wore a gray hooded sweatshirt with the words "Lynchburg Lacrosse" in red lettering across the chest.

The suspect is considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information about these robberies or this subject is urged to call the FBI at 215-418-4000 or the Philadelphia Police Department.
