Police Search Scene Of Weekend Triple Murder In Montco
GULPH MILLS, Pa. (CBS) - Montgomery County, Pa. detectives have executed a search warrant at the Upper Merion home where a 23-year-old man is accused of murdering his mother, father, and twin brother over the weekend (see previous stories).
According to court documents, detectives were looking for personal computers and medical and mental health records related to Joseph McAndrew, as they continue to try to shed light on why he allegedly stabbed three family members to death inside their Holstein Road home.
Court documents reveal that detectives spoke with a family friend who told them that McAndrew was somewhat paranoid and believed his brother James was hacking into his computer.
Another friend told police that McAndrew had become distraught over the recent breakup of an online relationship with a girl from Argentina.
Authorities were also looking for a book dealing with schizophrenia.
McAndrew remains behind bars without bail. It's believed he is making arrangements for a public defender.
Meanwhile, prosecutors will need to decide in the future whether to seek the death penalty.
