Police Search For Suspect In Radnor Township Attempted Robbery
RADNOR TOWNSHIP, Pa. (CBS) - Radnor Township police are investigating the attempted armed robbery of a jewelry store Thursday afternoon.
At about 4 p.m., police responded to the Amirian Jewelry store in the 200 block of W. Lancaster Avenue in the Wayne section of Radnor Township.
According to police, two of the owners reported that a Hispanic-looking male entered the store and demanded jewelry from the glass display counter.
When the store owner refused, the suspect allegedly revealed a handgun and sprayed pepper spray on both the owners. One of the victims then engaged in a struggle with the suspect at which point the suspect fled the scene.
Police said a witness chased the man to the rear parking lot until the suspect threatened him with the gun. The suspect was last seen on foot running on W. Wayne Avenue toward Bloomingdale Avenue.
The victims have described the suspect as approximately 5'10" to 6', medium to stocky build, and between his late 20's to early 30's. He was last seen wearing a yellow shirt and cream-colored hat.
