Police Search For Suspect In Officer-Involved Shooting
MULLICA Twp., N.J. (CBS)—The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office is investigating an officer-involved shooting that happened Thursday evening in Mullica Township.
During a routine traffic stop near the intersection of Mill Road and Darmstadt Avenue, a Mullica Township Police Officer opened fire after an incident with a male suspect.
Following the weapon discharge, the suspect fled the scene and later abandoned his vehicle in a neighborhood in Galloway Township.
Anthony Rouh witnessed the police search.
"I was just taking a walk and there was a bunch of detectives, cops. Once the cop had saw me he had said turn around and go home, and that was basically it. I called Galloway Township and asked what's going on and they said to me just lock your doors and stay in there."
Police are still searching for the suspect in Mullica Township and neighboring towns.
