Police Search For Suspect In North Philadelphia Homicide

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police investigating a homicide that happened overnight in North Philadelphia.
Just after 2 a.m., police were called to the 3700 block of Germantown Avenue for a man who was shot.
There they found a 24-year-old man slumped over the wheel of a 1994 Grand Marquis.
"This 24-year-old male appeared to be unconscious in the driver's seat, he appeared to be shot several times in his torso," Chief Inspector Scott Small told Eyewitness News on the scene.
The victim was rushed to Temple University Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 4:17 a.m.
Three bullet holes could be seen through the window on the drivers side.
"We found three spent shell casings in very close proximity to the driver door of the vehicle, about two to three feet away," said Chief Inspector Scott Small, "which is an indication that the shooter walked up to the vehicle and shot from point blank range."
There were two other men inside the Grand Marquis at the time.
They were not injured and were taken to Northwest Detectives as witnesses.
Police also believe the Grand Marquis was moving when the driver was shot.
It then hit a Toyota that was pulling out of a parking spot.
The woman driving the car was not injured, and was taken to Northwest Detectives also as a witness.
Detectives are hoping several surveillance cameras in the area captured the crime on video.
