Police Search For Missing College Student Headed Home To Montgomery County

SKIPPACK, Pa. (CBS) – Police are searching for a University of Rhode Island student who they say never made it home to Montgomery County.
According to police, 21-year-old Matthew Royer left his apartment at school at about 6:30 p.m. on Thursday to travel to his home in Collegeville, Pa.
He texted his mom that night to tell her he was on his way home for the summer.
Police say Royer failed to make it home.
Janet Royer says that's the last she and her husband Randy heard from Matt. A cell phone tower near Route 78 in Allentown picked up a signal from his phone at 2 a.m. Friday.
"The Coopersburg Hess station at 2:08 a.m. on Friday, he's seen on a video passing by the station," says Janet.
Randy Royer verified that his son was driving the silver 2008 Chevy Cobalt and it appeared he was the only person inside the car. Matt's debit card was used at a Sunoco station on Route 100 in Breinigsville, and that's where the trail runs cold.
Matthew Royer is 6'1" 160 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.
