Police Say Seaford Man Injured After Falling Into Grain Silo

SEAFORD, Del. (CBS) --  State Police in Delaware say a 68-year-old man was injured when he fell into a partially-filled grain silo this morning.

They say the victim was on top of the silo cleaning its inside walls when he fell approximately 30 feet.

Another man who at the Seaford area farm called 9-1-1.

Crews were able to place the victim in a harness and hoist him out of the silo.

Police say the rescue took about two and half hours.

The man was flown to the Christiana Hospital Trauma Center as a precautionary measure.

His injuries are non-life threatening.
