Police Release Surveillance Video Of Suspect In Fatal Stabbing Of Fruit Vendor
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia Police have released surveillance video of the suspect who they say fatally stabbed a fruit truck vendor in South Philadelphia.
The incident happened on April 18th at about 4:30 a.m. on the 400 block of Vollmer Street.
According to investigators, 68-year-old Don Ly was loading his cart with food and supplies when he was approached by a man who stabbed the victim in the neck.

The victim was rushed to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators say the suspect ran away from the scene in what is believed to be a robbery attempt.
During the investigation, police say the suspect was captured on surveillance video walking along the 2700 block of South Randolph Street.

Authorities describe the suspect as a black or Spanish man, 5'8", with facial hair or goatee and a thin build. He was wearing dark colored pants, a dark colored jacket, a black knit hat and black Chuck Taylor sneakers.
