Police Release Surveillance Video In Fatal Holmesburg Hit-And-Run

 By Dan Wing

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia Police have released new images and surveillance video as they continue to search for the vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident in Northeast Philadelphia. Now they need the public's help in identifying exactly what kind of truck they're looking for.

Authorities originally thought they were looking for a black tow truck, but now they're not so sure.

"We're still in the process of attempting to isolate, doing research to isolate what type of vehicle it is. But it does give the impression of at least something that looked like it would come from the 60s or 70s," said Sergeant Joseph Rossa.

Sergeant Rossa says the surveillance video shows the truck just seconds after it struck and killed 33-year-old Theresa Pozzi as she crossed State Road on December 23rd. Now more than a week into the investigation, Rossa says it's critical police can nail down a make and model.

"The sooner we get information, the better. That's why we're asking for the public's help. If anyone knows of any trucks that look similar, please feel free to call 911, or give us a call at our headquarters."

Rossa says tips can be given anonymously.
