Police Pursuit Ends With Crash, Arrests In Burlington County
FLORENCE, NJ (CBS) – A police pursuit that began in Pennsylvania ended with a crash in Burlington County, NJ on Thursday.
The pursuit began on the PA Turnpike around 11:48 a.m., when police attempted to pull a Mercedes Benz with Pa. tags over and the suspect took off, leading police on a chase at a high rate of speed.
The suspect crossed over the bridge and into New Jersey, where he exited onto Route 130 in Florence, NJ, but the driver flipped his car on the off-ramp, sending it into a wooded area.
The suspect then attempted to flee the scene on foot but was unsuccessful and was arrested. Another person in the car remained inside and was also apprehended by police.
State Police from both Pa. and NJ continue to investigate.
