Police Pursuit Ends In Deadly Kingsessing Crash, 4 Hospitalized
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A high-speed police chase that began in Delaware County ended in Philadelphia's Kingsessing section Tuesday night killing one person and injuring several others.
According to police, the chase began around 7:30 p.m. in Upper Darby after the report of a stolen car. When police attempted to pull the driver over, he sped away.
Officers gave chase and followed the speeding car until it crashed head-on into another vehicle and an elderly couple walking on the 5800 block of Chester Avenue in Kingsessing.
Police say the passenger of the speeding vehicle died and the driver of the other vehicle, as well as the two pedestrians, were taken to a nearby hospital.
The driver of the vehicle was taken into police custody.
