Police: Philadelphia Officer Kills Armed Suspect
PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Police say an officer shot and killed an armed suspect during an early Saturday morning chase on foot in Northeast Philadelphia.
A police spokeswoman said the pursuit began just before 2 a.m. Saturday in the Frankford section of the city.
Police said the pursuing officer fired one shot and hit the male suspect, who was pronounced dead at the scene minutes later.
Officers said a weapon was recovered. No further information was immediately available about the events leading up to the shooting.
