Sources: Off-Duty Cop Takes Another Officer Hostage In Carbon County
JIM THORPE, Pa., (CBS) – Eyewitness News is told a hostage situation in Carbon County ended with a police officer shot.
Sources tell Eyewitness News an off-duty officer in Lansford went to the home of a fellow officer and took him hostage.
The officer who allegedly did the kidnapping drove them to Jim Thorpe, where, sources say, he shot himself.
Chopper 3 was over the scene on Broadway.
The officer was taken to the hospital. There is no word on his condition.
The kidnapped officer was not hurt during the incident.
Police are investigating the motive behind the abduction.
