Police: 'Nanny-Cam' Caught Disturbing Abuse Of Woman, 90, At Bucks County Facility

LOWER MAKEFIELD, Pa. (CBS) -- A "nanny-cam" set up by family members captured the disturbing abuse of their elderly relative at an assisted living facility in Bucks County, investigators said.
Baindu Kromah, of Philadelphia, is facing misdemeanor charges of Neglect of Care-Dependant person and Simple Assault.
According to investigators, officers with the Lower Makefield Police Department were called to the Arden Courts Residential Assisted Living facility on Stony Hill Road for the report of elder abuse by a caregiver.
Investigators say on two separate occasions, relatives noticed suspicious bruising on the victim that no one at the facility could account for.
Relatives of the 90-year-old female resident suspected potential abuse by a caregiver at the facility and set up a "nanny-cam" in her room.
Investigators say relatives reviewed footage from the camera and observed two separates instances of abuse.
According to investigators, one instance showed the victim being physically mishandled by the defendant to the point that the victim cried out in pain and pleaded for help.
The second incident, according to investigators, showed the defendant handling the victim with such force that the victim struck a walker, knocking it over. The victim was forcibly handled upright to the walker, and again, the victim was crying and asking for help.
The 36-year-old Kromah was arraigned and bail was set at $25,000 unsecured.
