Police: Man Killed By Train In Philadelphia's Overbrook Section
PHILADELPHIA (AP/CBS) — Authorities say a man has been struck and killed by a train in the Overbrook section of Philadelphia.
Police said the 40 to 60-year-old victim was trying to get to the Amtrak Philadelphia-to-Harrisburg train at the Overbrook station.
They say he apparently slipped and fell in the path of the train just after 4 p.m. Tuesday.
Service on SEPTA's Paoli-Thorndale Regional Rail line was suspended for about four hours due to the accident, resumed, then was suspended again for a couple of hours due to power problems on the Amtrak line. SEPTA said the line was expected to operate normally on Wednesday morning.
