Police: Man Fired 10 Gunshots At Delaware Highway
BEAR, Del. (CBS3) - New Castle County Police arrested a man they say fired 10 gunshots at a heavily traveled highway in Delaware, striking at least one car.
David W. Stanley, 36, is facing numerous charges in connection to the incident that happened Thursday evening near the Christiana Meadows Apartments.
According to investigators, Stanley fired approximately 10 gunshots from his apartment window towards Route 1. Police say at least one car was struck by a large caliber bullet.
Following a brief standoff, SWAT officers used explosives to break down the front door of Stanley's apartment about 1:40 a.m. and, with the help of a robot, arrested Stanley.
A search warrant was executed at Stanley's apartment and police located and seized several guns.
Stanley has been charged with reckless endangering in the first degree and two weapon offenses. It was not immediately known why Stanley fired at the highway.
No injuries were reported.
Stanley is currently at the Court of Common Pleas awaiting an arraignment.
