Police Investigating Home Invasion, Sexual Assault In Burlington County
MT. HOLLY TWP., N.J. (CBS) – Police in Mount Holly Township are investigating a home invasion and sexual assault that took place Thursday.
The incident occurred on the 200 block of Holeman Street around 9:20 p.m.
According to police, one resident went outside to get a purse from her vehicle and was met by a suspect with a handgun.
Allegedly, the armed suspect and a second suspect walked the victim back into the house and then tied up all of the residents with nylon zip ties. One of the victims was then assaulted with brass knuckles, says police.
Authorities report that while the residents were tied up, the unarmed suspect ransacked the house while the other stood guard; both suspects then took all the residents to a back room.
Police say one of the suspects returned to the back room and escorted a female resident to the living room where he sexually assaulted her. The suspects then fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash and jewelry.
The female victim was taken to Virtua Hospital for treatment. Police say the other victims declined treatment.
The suspects have been described as two black males wearing masks and dark clothing.
