Police Investigating Deadly Shooting In Delaware
NEWARK, Del. (CBS) – A possible suspect is in police custody following a fatal shooting in Delaware Monday evening.
The shooting happened at about 8:50 p.m. in the unit block of Old Fence Lane in the Country Creek community of Newark.
When officers arrived, they found an unidentified male outside of a home with a gunshot wound to his upper body.
The victim was transported to Christiana Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities say they currently have a possible suspect in custody.
Detectives are interviewing witnesses and collecting evidence. A motive for the deadly shooting remains under investigation.
The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification of his next of kin.
