Police: Report Of Gunshots Unfounded At Princeton University
PRINCETON, N.J., (CBS) – Princeton University has issued the all-clear after police determined that a report of gunshots on campus was unfounded Tuesday night.
Police had cordoned off Nassau Hall after the University Department of Public Safety received a report of what were believed to be shots fired around 7:55 p.m.
The University sent out an emergency alert informing the University community about the incident and asking them to stay away from the area.
Princeton Police searched building and found no evidence of any shots. Police believe the report of gunshots was unfounded.
Princeton's Public Safety issued the "all clear" message around 10:30 p.m.
No injuries were reported.
Officers from the West Windsor, Plainsboro and Lawrence police departments and the Mercer County Sheriff also responded to the incident.
