Police Investigate Deadly 2-Vehicle Crash, Fire In Northeast Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police are investigating a deadly two-vehicle accident that occurred in the Holmesburg section of the city early Saturday morning.
According to police, a 2010 Mazda with one occupant slammed into an unoccupied tractor trailer on the 9000 block of Torresdale Avenue around 2:25 a.m. Police say the car was traveling at a high rate of speed and drifted off the roadway.
The car then burst into flames, says police.
According to investigators, the body was so badly burned they are unsure of its sex, age or race. Upon further investigation police were able to identify the driver as a male. No further description has been released.
Officials are investigating.
