Police: Insult Led To Deadly Shooting In South Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A disparaging comment about a female led to the deadly shooting of a man early Wednesday morning, police said.
The deadly incident happened at about 12:30 a.m. at 21st and Morris Streets in the city's Point Breeze section.
According to investigators, the incident began when a 19-year-old man said something out of line about the suspect's girlfriend.
Police say the suspect then pulled out a gun and opened fire, striking the victim in the head.
The victim was rushed to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he was later pronounced dead.
The suspect fled the scene after the shooting. Police are continuing their search for the gunman.
The deadly shooting remains under police investigation.
