Police Identify Man Killed In 4-Vehicle Galloway Crash
GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) — Authorities have released then name of a man killed in a four-vehicle accident on a southern New Jersey highway that also left seven people injured.
Galloway Township police say 69-year-old William Anthony Jr. of Hammonton was killed in the crash that occurred around 11:30 a.m. Monday at Route 30 and Pomona Road, near Atlantic City International Airport.
Authorities say a tractor-trailer driver ran a red light and collided with two vehicles headed south on Pomona Road. The tractor-trailer then veered into the eastbound lanes on Route 30 and drove over a third car, which Anthony was driving.
That vehicle overturned and became pinned underneath the tractor-trailer. Anthony and his passengers had to be extricated from the vehicle.
Anthony was taken to a hospital, where he died a short time later.
