Police: Husband Charged With Jogger's Murder

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia police have charged the husband of Connie McClain-Murray in connection with her death.
After spending most of the night questioning him, police charged 48-year-old Christopher Murray around 10 a.m. Sunday. Detectives revealed that Murray confessed to the crime.
Confirmation of the arrest and charges came from a police spokesperson. Police held a briefing on Sunday afternoon at police headquarters to detail their findings (watch below).
At the briefing, Homicide Lt. Philip Riehl said the story that Christopher Murray told police after his wife went missing Monday night didn't add up.
"His wife was missing but contacted nobody -- no friends, no family -- to find out if she was with them," Riehl said. "Instead, immediately went to hospitals and went to the police station, it seemed almost a show."
On Saturday, Pennsylvania State Police gave Murray a lie detector test, which police say he failed.
"After failing the lie detector test, he was questioned by detectives, where he ultimately confessed to strangling his wife in the park," Riehl said.
Connie McClain-Murray went out Monday night and then never returned home. She was found dead the next morning near Pennypack Park.
Autopsy results showed McClain-Murray tried to fight off her attacker. The autopsy showed she was strangled.
Murray is now charged with the murder of his wife on the same day of her viewing and their two daughters must now grapple with two losses in the span of a week.
Hundreds attended Connie McClain-Murray's viewing Sunday night. Her funeral is Monday morning.
