Police: Holiday Grinch Stole Packages From Several Del. Communities
WILMINGTON, Del. (CBS) – A holiday Grinch has reportedly been stealing just-delivered packages from various locations in Delaware.
According to New Castle County Police, officers have responded to the communities of Cragmere in Wilmington, Barrett Run in Newark and Forest Glen in Newark after receiving reports of several packages stolen from front porches.
While the department says this kind of criminal activity is, sadly, common during the holidays, police are warning residents to exercise caution when having packages delivered to their home.
Residents should consider having a trusted neighbor pick up the package or make sure their packages are registered "signature required."
Last week, police in Gloucester Township, NJ reported an uptick in the number of packages being stolen from doorsteps in advance of the holidays.
