Police Forced To Open Fire On Carjacking Suspects In Germantown
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Two suspects were shot by police and two remain on the loose after Philadelphia police officers foiled a carjacking early Monday morning.
The incident began at about 12:45 a.m. at 13th Street and Allegheny Avenue in the city's Wister section.
According to investigators, four suspects, armed with a gun and a taser, carjacked a man and forced him to drive to Ashmead and Rubicam Streets.
Authorities say when the suspects spotted police officers, they opened fire. The officers fired back, striking two suspects. Those two suspects were taken into police custody.
The two other suspects were able to escape and remain on the loose.
No officers were injured and the carjacking victim only suffered minor injuries.
The incident remains under investigation.
