Police Find Meth Lab In The Basement Of A Blue Bell Home
NORRISTOWN (CBS) -- Police responding to a domestic disturbance call in Blue Bell over the weekend uncovered a meth lab in the basement of the house and now a 45-year-old man is under arrest on numerous drug and related charges.
Police say the elderly woman who owns the house in the 500 block of Belfry Drive called police because she was having an argument with her son about what was in the basement of the home. Police smelled an odor coming from the house and their investigation turned up a sophisticated meth lab. District attorney Risa Ferman says the woman's son, identified as Francis Nolan III, was taken into custody and the investigation continues:
"I think it's important for us to know exactly the breadth and scope of this operation. Was he manufacturing to sell in Montgomery County? Was he manufacturing and selling elsewhere? These are things we would like to know."
Police wearing chemical suits and breathing apparatus went into the home and dismantled the lab, which they say contained toxic chemicals and could have exploded.
