Police: Dover Man Charged With 6th DUI
DOVER, Del., (CBS) – Police say a Dover man was charged with his 6th DUI offense on Thursday.
The incident happened at about 12:45 p.m. at South DuPont Highway (US13) and South State Street in Dover.
Delaware State Police say a trooper saw 32-year-old Takoi A. Morris of Dover driving while talking on a cellphone.
Authorities say the trooper pulled Morris over and when asked for his license, an odor of alcohol was detected and a DUI investigation ensued.
According to police, a computer search revealed Morris had five previous convictions of driving under the influence.
Morris was arrested and charged with his 6th Offense Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Driving While Suspended or Revoked, No Proof of Insurance, and Driving While Using an Electronic Communication Device.
He was arraigned and ordered held on $11,000 secured bail.
