Police: Delaware Man Arrested For Numerous Crank Phone Calls To 911 Center
DOVER, Del. (CBS) – Delaware State Police arrested a man they say made numerous harassing phone calls to a 911 center.
Justin M. Thorne, 23, of Dover, is facing several charges for his alleged role in the dialing of several prank phone calls to the Sussex County Emergency Operations Center.
According to investigators, on September 17th of last year, Thorne made four phone calls within four minutes and used a previously recorded message in order to harass the operator.
After an investigation, detectives conducted a search warrant on Monday at Thorne's residence and seized computer equipment as well as several cell phones.
Thorne was taken into custody and has been charged with four counts of Harassment and four counts of Malicious Interference with Emergency Communications.
He was arraigned and released on $8,000 unsecured bond.
The Delaware State Police is currently working with the Massachusetts State Police, as well as other agencies in Massachusetts, on similar harassing phone calls to their agencies.
