Police: Construction Worker Dies After Falling In Delaware River
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia officials say a man who fell into the Delaware River earlier tonight has died.
Dispatch received a call at 8:37 pm about a construction worker falling into the river off Pier 78, which is located on S. Christopher Columbus Boulevard near Snyder Avenue.
Marine units searched the water for just under an hour and located the victim at about 9:30 pm.
Once the man was taken out of the water, paramedics on scene immediately began CPR, but they were unable to save him.
He was later pronounced dead at Hahnemann University Hospital.
It's not clear how the man ended up in the water.
