DEVON, Pa. (CBS) -- Tredyffrin Township police say the blood alcohol content of a local school teacher charged with being drunk on the job made her a danger to herself and others.
A preliminary hearing has been scheduled in Devon District Court on Wednesday, January 23rd at 9 a.m. for Carol Wittschieben, 43, whom police say had a blood-alcohol content of 0.32 percent, four times the legal limit for drivers (0.08 percent).
Wittschieben faces charges of recklessly endangering another person and public drunkenness after showing up at school intoxicated.
Wittschieben is a chemistry teacher at Conestoga High School. Police say she was unresponsive at noon last Monday when they were called to the school in Berwyn, Pa.
The school district has placed her on leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
