Police: Boy Playing With Gun Shoots Self In Hand At West Philadelphia Playground
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A young boy was hospitalized on Sunday after he shot himself in the hand while playing with a gun at a playground in West Philadelphia.
The incident happened around 3:00 p.m. at 56th and Christian Streets in the Cobbs Creek section of the city.
According to police, the 10-year-old boy was playing with a gun when it discharged. The bullet struck the victim in the left thumb.
The boy was taken to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia where he was treated and released.
It was not initially clear where the boy got the gun.
